MOUNTAIN BIKE WEEK - SPECIALIZED STATUS

Welcome to Mountain Bike Week at Tom's Pro Bike.  Last week we hosted Ionraic Triathlon Club and this week we are hosting Buffalo Triathlon Club so we highlighted Triathlon equipment and training tips.  This week we are also hosting the Spring WNYMBA Meeting so we are going to be discussing Mountain Bike equipment and training tips all week.

Hopefully this "beautiful" weather breaks soon, the snow disappears for another spring, the rains hold off, and the local trails are allowed to dry out and get ready to take your bike skills on again for the upcoming "season".

Today we are going to highlight a Downhill Bike - The Specialized Status
Specialized Status II - MSRP $3,300.00

Specialized Status I - MSRP $2,500.00

Let's see what Specialized has to say about their Downhill bike:

Sure, riding downhill is a good time; but it’s an even better time to be a downhiller. Ski resorts across the country are opening well-designed, summertime bike parks, and our STATUS downhill machine delivers performance and value every rider will appreciate. Whether shredding local shuttle trails or pinned on the racecourse, the Status’ 200mm of FSR suspension, DH Race geometry, and reliable component spec keeps riders on track and in control on technical downhill terrain.

The 200mm Status I park bike features FSR suspension, plus a custom X-Fusion Vector R shock and 180mm-travel X-Fusion Vengeance fork.
M4 alloy, 200mm-travel FSR frame with 1.5" head tube, full-cartridge bearing pivots and ISCG mounts makes the Status ready to handled the most technical descents
Custom X-Fusion Vector R coil rear shock with adjustable rebound works with the bike's FSR design to keep the rear wheel planted for aggressive riding
X-Fusion Vengeance coil-sprung fork with tapered alloy steerer tube, 170mm of travel, adjustable rebound control and 20mm thru-axle makes a plush fork that tracks through technical terrain
P-Disc rim is 32mm-wide and lace to Specialized Hi Lo disc hubs with 36 stainless spokes to a 20mm thru-axle in the front, robust to handle technical downhill terrain
Specialized Butcher SX 2.3" dual-compound front tire for premium traction on challenging terrain
Alloy platform pedals with molded pins offer grip and reliability for riders pushing the boundaries
The 750mm-wide Specialized DH low-rise handlebar is super wide to control the toughest conditions
All-new Sip Grip, a lock-on, Aramid infused, half-waffle MTB grip boosts durability, comfort and control
Avid Elixir 1 hydraulic disc brakes with HS-1 rotor, tool-less reach adjust and metallic pads keeps speed in check.

The 200mm Status II downhill bike brings world championship FSR downhill technology to a more accessible price level. The Status II features a 135mm rear hub spacing, a custom Fox Van RC coil shock and a RockShox Boxxer RC dual crown fork.
M4 alloy, 200mm-travel FSR frame with 1.5" head tube, full-cartridge bearing pivots and ISCG mounts makes the Status ready to handled the most technical descents
Custom-tuned FOX Van RC coil shock is designed for high-speed downhill terrain, and features easily adjustable rebound, compression and preload
RockShox Boxxer RC offers 200mm of travel with externally adjustable compression and rebound, and a 20mm Maxle thru-axle
Specialized Butcher DH 26 x 2.3" soft dual compound front and rear tires offer great traction with Monster Team approved tread, and a bombproof casing
Custom Truvativ Descendant crankset with alloy arms, GXP BB, 36T chainring and Gamut bashguard is built for speed and chain retention
Specialized four-bolt, direct mount, 40mm long stem keeps the handlebar low, fast, and aligned after a spill
The 750mm-wide Specialized DH low-rise handlebar is super wide to control the toughest conditions
All-new Sip Grip, a lock-on, Aramid infused, half-waffle MTB grip boosts durability, comfort and control
