Fast & Furious Friday - RACE WHEELS

Reminder that the Spring Wheel Sale is still happening!

Today we are going to highlight some high end road race wheels manufactured by Enve and built up with DT Swiss hubs.

First up is the ENVE SES 3.4 CLINCHER WHEELSET:

Let's see what ENVE says about this Clincher :

When discussing the Smart ENVE System 3.4 with riders who have just pedaled them for the first time, the words frequently used to describe the experience are, “versatile, stable, smooth, snappy, solid, and fast”.

Pro Cycling called these wheels, “the best we’ve ridden”.

The new Smart ENVE System 3.4s just got better and are now available in a clincher model.  The 3.4s are specifically designed as a multi-purpose wheelset that can be used in virtually all weather conditions, terrains and disciplines. The 3.4s, being shallower, offer maximum performance characteristics for professional and novice riders alike in mountainous terrain, or when the wind conditions are too strong for the 6.7s or 8.9s. The 3.4 wheel system is capable of producing very low drag numbers similar to other company’s 50-60mm deep wheels, while creating a higher stability index given its shallower depth. The front rim is 26mm wide and 35mm deep while the rear is 24mm wide and 45mm deep.

These wheels retail for $2900.00 a set and from just spinning them in my hands in the shop I can only imagine how nice these would feel underneath myself on the road.  I do not have any personal experience with Enve but I know the DT Swiss hubs are outstanding and I mentioned yesterday I have a set of wheels built up with their hub and they just roll so nicely - I can only imagine this wheelset is just the same but with a carbon rim built up to the hubs!

Next up is the ENVE ROAD WHEEL'S 25'S TUBULAR:

Let's see what ENVE says about this Ceramic Bearing Hub Tubular Carbon Rim Wheel Set:

Born in the mountains of Northern Utah and elegantly designed with subtle foil shape, this 25mm deep rim is anything but delicate. The 1.25 is suitable for all disciplines of road riding and racing.  As of late this rim has gained somewhat of a cult following among die hard CX racers from  Jonathan Page to the ENVE staff because of the 1.25's low rotational weight, confident handling, and bomb proof construction.

Weight is shown in the above picture - Front 470 and Rear 570

You cannot go wrong with either of these wheel sets if you are looking to upgrade your current wheels for the upcoming race season.  Stop by the shop, give us a call, or send us an e-mail with any questions.  The weather should be breaking soon so keep an eye for upcoming shop rides!
