Travel By Bike Thursday - ALL-CITY MACHO MAN

All-City is not a well known bike like the big boys that we stock, but they are well manufactured and you would not be disappointed in making the choice to purchase one of these fine bikes as a commuter/cross race bike!  The brand is related to the Surley and Salsa line and is distributed by QBP out of Minnesota.

This bike is explained by the fine folks at All-City as:

The geared tag team partner of the Nature Boy has finally arrived in the form of the Macho Man.  Same geo, same fork, same awesomeness but with our signature vertical dropouts.  The AC hallmarks are all still there too, headbadge, hidden fender mounts, reinforced bottle bosses, etc., but the Macho loses the internal brake routing in favor of a triple top tube guide.
That last part was quite a conundrum for us as the internal routing has been an AC calling card, but with a CX bike it didn't make sense to put the shift cables on the downtube. Which is why we elected to put them all up top and out of the way of the muck.  This also allowed us to put a nice barrel adjuster on the front derailleur stop, and to take advantage of Shimano's new CX 70 top pull cyclocross specific front derailleur.  Of course if you want to run a standard road front derailleur, there is a pulley mount to allow you to do so.
As far as complete bike spec goes, we're very proud of the rock solid parts kit.  It’s got a Salsa bar/stem, FSA post, 105 shifters and rear derailleur, Shimano CX70 front derailleur, FSA Gossamer crankset, Conti tires, etc, etc.  In short, it is stacked with good stuff.  The color is a lovely citroen, and not at all banana-y as the photos might suggest.
The Macho continues and expounds upon the Nature Boy's legacy, we're proud to bring it to you, and proud to loudly send the message that we're taking over steel cyclocross.

I love the front fork on this bike.  I have the Single Speed Nature Boy -Woooooooooooooooooooo! (Big Props to you if know how the name came about - just leave a comment) and love the bike's design and ridability level.  I did a custom build on mine because I had some spare parts laying around but there is nothing wrong with the Macho Man's build specs at all.  You can race this bike during cross season and then commute on it year round.

If you need more information on this bike stop by the shop or give us a call!

Just a reminder that the shop will be open Sunday from 10-3 for those last minute gifts!
