Change It Up Wednesday - BIKE INDUSTRY NEWS

Welcome to Wednesday's edition of the Tom's Pro Bike blog and our highlights of industry news and pro bike sitings.

Mavic Cosmic Carbone 40C Carbon Clincher Road Bike Wheels Review

First up is a review on the Mavic Cosmic Carbon 40 that was found on the bikerumor web site.  So what does all this weigh? Surprisingly, the front is 670g and the rear comes in at 875g for a total of 1545g. The competitor most referenced by Mavic, the Zipp 303, comes in 70g lighter.  Click on the link above to get more information on heat dissipation and actual wheel construction.

Next up is more trickle down effect in the industry.  Shimano is introducing the Ultegra 6800 group - 11 Speed in the Ultegra line to compete with SRAM's Force 11 Speed Groups.  MSRP of the 6800 is $1,250 compared to $1,360 for Force.

Are you interested in friction quantities with Ceramic bearing jockey pulleys?  If so, click on THIS LINK.  I do not have a scientific mind but the basic premise of the report is that these specific bearings lost minimal functionality after being used for a season.

The Fuji Norcom which has been discussed on Wednesday's two times in the past couple of months is finally out for release and here is a picture & First Ride Review for your reading enjoyment.

Sticking with TT rides here is Vincenzo Nibali's Specialized Shiv and breakdown for you to drool over!

Johan Vansummeren (Garmin-Sharp) is hoping a second Paris-Roubaix victory will come aboard this Cervélo R3 Mud.

And to wrap it all up here is Johan Vansummeren's Cervelo R3 Mud from Paris-Roubaix.
