Change It Up Wednesday - BIKE INDUSTRY NEWS

Back to the industry news once again.  There were too many good articles to chose from this week but I narrowed it down to some items that feature products we carry at Tom's Pro Bike or will be as soon as they are available from the manufacturer.

The P3 slots in between the top-end P5 and the entry-level P2

We are going to start off with the trickle-down effect from upper end bikes changing lower level bikes from the same manufacturers.  This was first discussed when I highlighted the Cervelo RCA frame which is available in limited quantities and how that technology would be passed down to other frames from Cervelo.  CyclingNews posted an article about the P3 and how it will be receiving some updates from technology that is used on the P5.  The new P3 is available by order immediately and has a MSRP of $5,400 with Shimano 11 Speed Dura-Ace 9000.

Specialized's top-end S-Works road shoes underwent a major redesign for 2013.

Specialized S-Works Road Shoes are reviewed in this LINK.  Tom loves these shoes and although they have a MSRP of $400.00 he says these shoes are worth it and he replaced a pair of 2012 shoes for the new model based on the upgrades.  If you are looking for a top of the line road shoe you cannot go wrong with the S-Works Road shoe.

The Specialized CruX Pro Carbon is fantastically light and remarkably efficient and yet still doesn't beat you up on course.

We don't carry the CruX Carbon but we currently have the CruX Elite Disc in stock.  The Carbon model was reviewed in THIS ARTICLE and if you are looking to upgrade your cross ride for the fall season you should definitely check out the CruX in either model.  The Carbon model has a MSRP of $4,400 and the Elite Disc has a MSRP of $2,100.

The new Garmin Edge 510 isn't so much a replacement for the venerable Edge 500 as it is a new in-between model that borrows some features from the flagship Edge 810.

We currently are stocking the Garmin 810 and 510 and here is a review of the 510.  If you are looking for a GPS unit for your bike you cannot go wrong with the Garmin at all.  It has a MSRP of $329.99.

For more information on any of these highlighted bikes or accessories stop by the shop, give us a call, or send us an e-mail.
