Tom's Summer Sale Concludes Today

Just a reminder to start the day off that Tom's Summer Sale is still taking place but wraps up today so if you are in need of clothing, nutrition, accessories, or a new bike stop by and check out our great deals!

Today I am going to highlight the Car Rack portion of the sale - 15% off any car rack in stock (and we just got a huge shipment in Friday of Thule Racks) so if you are in need of a Roof Rack, Hitch Mount Rack, Truck/Hatch Rack, or Spare Tire Rack then you should stop by the shop and check out our display wall and inventory.

We also stock Saris Racks and have a variety of models available from them as well.  There are even a few used racks available as well for even more savings.

A great way to test the your new Mountain Bike out is in the southern tier this week - Ellicottville Wednesday Night race series is happening (off this week due to Holiday but resumes next Wednesday).  A great week to get muddy and sweaty on the mountain bike!  Keep an eye posted on Facebook for some pictures from the Raccoon Rally yesterday that 4 of us from the shop participated in (and suffered immensely!)

Specialized has a new helmet out - the S-Works Evade. HERE is a review of it for you if interested.



Preliminary start lists are out for the 101st Tour de France next month.  Check out your favorite team HERE and see if your rider made the cut!



Specialized is introducing a new wheel for mountain bikes - The Roval Traverse: 

To prove the concept, the engineering team used an angled grip table to simulate leaning a bike over in a corner. This helped them visualize what happens to tires at load, and proved the wider is better concept wasn’t just a placebo.

Studying the graph, you can see that the tire on the wider rim moves less under the same amount of force, which translates to better support and handling on the trail.

 

Available in Aluminum and Carbon.

Tom's Pro Bike Summer Sale

OK so I went to work last night at the shop and I pulled into the parking lot and what did I see?  Tents and bikes outside and I thought to myself demo day or what is going on!  All of sudden I remembered the sale started today!

If you click on THIS LINK you will find all the sale bikes (but just so you know we sold at least 4 yesterday so sale price is on inventory only and once it is gone you miss out on a great deal).  One example was I sold the 2012 Felt F75 that was originally $1399 for $799.  That is almost 50% off for a 105 equipped bike!

Bike Industry News Wednesday

Well this bike speaks very loudly to me and I cannot wait for July 15th and the release of the Specialized Diverge.  Details are very limited right now but if you are looking for a "gravel grinder" and multi-purpose bike well this just might be the ticket for you!  Keep tuned in and we will provide more information when it is available.



Campagnola is releasing updated mechanical groups and it seems to be focused on improved shifting response.



Today is like the Mother of All Days to make Blogger Bill smile.  First a gravel grinder and now fat bike carrying abilities.  Saris is adding "Fat-Tire" trays for it's Freedom Racks.  If you have the Freedom and a Fat Bike stop by and we can order them in for you!

Travel WITH Bike Thursday - BIKE RACKS

The weather is changing and that means bike rides.  Some people transport their bikes to meeting points and that is where a bike rack is very handy.  There is no taking off the front wheel, moving car seats around, lowering seats, or many other situations that come up.
