Bike Industry News Wednesday

If you have read this weeks blog post you will know tonight is the WNYMBA Mountain Bike Social at Tom's Pro Bike.  This is just your friendly reminder before we get into Bike Industry News from the past week.

Specialized Tarmac Elite SL4

First up is a review of the Specialized Tarmac Elite SL4 from bikeradar.com.  We love the Tarmac at Tom's and if you ever took the time to come and test ride we bet you would love it also!

Mounted to several custom 29ers at this year’s North American Handmade Bicycle Show was a new rigid mountain bike fork from carbon component manufacturer ENVE Composites

At Tom's we love Enve products and some new stuff is popping up from them.  Bikeradar spotted a carbon road fork and mountain bike fork and discusses it here.  If you are looking for ways to lower overall bike weight then a carbon fork is a good way to make big gains if you don't have one already.

Alberto Contador (Tinkoff-Saxo) with the winner's trophy in Tirreno-Adriatico

Cycling News has a bunch of articles on the spring classics that are in full force right now.  I have been DVR'ing them and watching them at night and am really excited for Paris-Roubaix!  Alberto was back on the top of the podium recently courtesy of Specialized (and his engine as well).

Saris Fatbike bike rack (3)

For our Fat Bike friends, Saris is introducing a 5" Fat Bike Tray to carry these beauties around to the trail heads.  The snow may be melting but these bikes are fun year round - I have ridden mine at Sprague Brook and in Cazenovia Creek during the summer time so don't think this is not the time to purchase one.  We still have a Surly Pugsley at the shop!

A great way to start off the mountain bike season and train for the XTERRA races is by signing up for Single Track Racing's 6 race series at Sprague Brook starting May 20, 2014. Check out their Facebook Page for more information or Register Here.

Huge clothing sale taking place right now - stop by and check out our inventory!

If you test ride a Felt between now and April 15, 2014 you get a free entry to try and win a trip to Hawaii and other prizes as well! Felt Ride to Hawaii Event.

Tentative EVENT SCHEDULE is up at the website. Check out our upcoming 2014 events and pre-plan your schedule!

Don't forget if you are contemplating the XTERRA Syracuse or XTERRA ASP to let us know if you are interested in joining a training team at Tom's as well.
