Change It Up Wednesday - BIKE INDUSTRY NEWS

Specialized Turbo electric bicycle comes to North America

This is Specialized's Turbo E-Bike which has been in production and available in Europe since 2012 and now it is available in the United States.  The article says it has a top speed of 28mph and had to meet with some regulations for that type of speed and still be considered a bicycle.  There is a link within the article that I linked above that will take you to some specifications on the Turbo E-Bike!

The above picture is of the Specialized S-Works Enduro 29er and Enduro SX being released and raced at the Sea Otter Classic.  Aaron Gwin took the Full Suspension 6" travel bike to the top podium spot in the downhill race and 20th position on the 26" model.  Both are available by order from Tom's if you are interested!

HED has updated its popular Ardennes wide-format aluminum clinchers with an even-wider rim to create the new Ardennes Plus range.

HED is coming out with an Ardennes that can be tubeless and be ran for CycloCross or Gravel Racing.  The HED Ardennes Plus has been tested by a couple of people that I know in the industry and are getting rave reviews.  I sent an e-mail to HED to see when they are available and I will post that information as soon as they get back to me.  If you are into Cross or Gravel Racing or like running a wider tire this is a great option! Part 1 and Part 2 can be found at these links.

The Giro D'Italia is starting this coming weekend and here is a run down of who Cycling News feels are the front runners to take the title.

Even though the Tour De France is still a couple of months out Christopher Froome is garnering a lot of attention as a possible victor this year.  He was the consummate teammate last year at the Tour and helped Bradley Wiggins to take the victory and held back a couple of climbing stages to make sure the "Team Goal" was fulfilled but probably could have taken the Yellow with his power that he was showing in the Alps last year.
