2016 Specialized Tarmac Comp Di2 Ultegra - Follow Up

A couple of weeks ago we highlighted the 2016 Specialized Tarmac Comp Di2 Ultegra.  At that point it had not even hit the Specialized website.  Over the weekend we did some research against the competition to see where they come in at this level of bike and were amazed at the results.

First up is the Specialized write up of this great deal bike:

The Tarmac Comp UDi2 is a superb upgrade for any cyclist looking to take their riding to the next level. With its FACT 9r carbon frame that delivers ample responsiveness and performance, and performance across every frame size and the incredible performance value of the electronic Shimano UDi2 build kit, the Tarmac Comp UDi2 is a true step-up to any rider's arsenal.
  • The FACT 9r carbon frame has all the stiffness and performance you need in a lightweight package, making climbing and descending the best part of any ride.
  • The FACT full carbon fiber fork provides incredible front end stiffness and steering input for rapid accelerations and speedy descents.
  • The smooth-rolling bearings and classic build quality of the Fulcrum S-19 wheelset ensures mile-after-mile of worry-free performance over any terrain.

Key Points:

#1 - Specialized's website blows all the others away for ease of navigation and just overall presentation!

#2 - Specialized Tarmac MSRP is $3,300 for Ultegra Di2 and a Fact 9r Carbon Frame
#3 - Cannondale does not do a bike at this level (or that I could find easily on their site)
#4 - Trek Domane 5.9  has a MSRP of $4,899 - Yes that is $1,500 more expensive and I hardly doubt that the Domane frame has that much more engineering or ride value in it!
#5 - Giant TCR Advanced SL1 has a MSRP of $5,900 - Wow $2,500 more expensive than the Specialized.  Specialized is the company that has their own Win Tunnel to do aerodynamic studies of their bikes and their bike is $2,500 less expensive!
#6 - BMC Teammachine SLR02 has a MSRP of $4,598 - Only $1,200 more expensive than the Specialized

Yes we are a Specialized dealer but even if we were not I would have a hard time selling a bike to a customer that is at minimum $1,200 more expensive than the Tarmac Comp Di2 Ultegra.  Just think of the accessories you can score with 1,200 extra dollars in your pocket or 1,500 or even 2,500!

Stop in today from 10-8 and check this great bargain out and take one for a test ride!  Then go test ride the others and come back and let us know that their bike is justified to be that much more expensive!
