By now you probably know that Pugsley was created to go where so-called “all terrain” bikes flounder. The floatation and traction afforded by large-volume, low-pressure tires can get you over and through otherwise un-rideable terrain…sand, mud, wet rocks and roots, ice and dense or packed snow.

The Pugsley frame features 135mm-spaced horizontal rear-loading dropouts with a derailleur hanger. The stays are offset 17.5mm to accommodate a derailleured drivetrain, an internally-geared hub or a single speed or even fixed gear drivetrain and never worry about chain-on-tire rub.

Pugsley is available as a frameset and as a complete bike. The frame will accept tires up to 3.8˝ wide. The fork is a 135mm-spaced symmetric version with extra cage mounts on each leg and room for a 4.8” tire if you should choose to go even bigger up front. If you want to be able to swap front and rear wheels, get an offset Moonlander fork. This can be pretty handy in extreme temperature and physical conditions if, say, your freehub body were to seize up in the middle of nowhere at -50°F.

Our standard Pugsley complete bike sports a nice mix of components chosen for their durability and value. We’ve given it Nate 3.8” tires on 65mm Marge Lite rims, Microshift thumb shifters, which work well especially when wearing mittens and Avid BB7 cable disc brakes (totally black). This is a solid kit that will serve you well wherever you go. Pugsley is offered in sizes XS (about 14˝) to XL (about 22˝) and comes in all black or black and blue.

To test ride one stop by the shop, bring a smile, and leave with a great bike to ride year round but especially now that the snow is falling.  $1800 for a smile is well worth it and just think how fast you will be next spring when you get back on your race bike!
