Mountain Bike Monday - WOMEN'S SPECIALIZED FATE COMP CARBON 29

Specialized Venge Pro Race Force

Yesterday we discussed how Specialized's relationship with McLaren is leading to much more responsive and comfortable race bikes and today we are going to highlight the Specialized Venge Pro Race Force.  This bike is the high end Specialized Venge before they move into the S-Works Models and just looks beautiful in this picture and also live in our shop as well!

The Venge is fast. Plain and simple. Behind it sits a myriad of science, testing, aerodynamic tweaking and design. What does all this mean for you? Specialized's Partnership With McLaren - HOW IT WILL IMPROVE YOUR RIDE

How does technology help your bike become more stable and responsive?

Why does a top end Carbon bike cost so much more than Aluminum?

Does trickle down technology really come into play from top manufacturers?

BikeRadar recently took a tour of the McLaren/Specialized research area and reported their findings in this ARTICLE:

McLaren has created a set of tools that can be fitted onto a bike and the bike rider. The data kit is used by Specialized to acquire banks of data on different frames – the race-ready Tarmac, the comfortable Roubaix, the aero Venge. Once this data is acquired (Specialized has been gathering information for over 18 months now), the goal of Duncan and his team is to use this information to create a simulator, using the technology they have already developed for the car side of the business.
Part of the data acquiring tools developed by McLaren include these hubs that can record movement, acceleration and deceleration and vibration

Then, when they want to design and develop a new bike, the parameters of what makes a good bike for the cobbles, or the best bike for an alpine stage, can be input into the simulator. A ‘virtual’ prototype using FEA, CFD and so on, can then be uploaded and ridden before ever going near cloth and glue to build a bike.

Yes you are paying more for a Venge compared to the Allez but besides the frame material there is a lot more research going into the Venge and how to make it faster for everyone that rides one.  I am not saying the Allez is not a good or great bike but this is to point out why the Venge is more expensive for those looking for a top notch race bike!
